The
field unit-youth club Guca first Annual Meeting
|
From May 12th to14th 2006, apart from their other
activities such as the World’s week of the Red
Cross,visit to the youth field unit of Karpos
in Skopje, the Red Cross Nis volunteers have visited
the field unit foundation meeting of Guca. Having
entered the bus, Milos and I could not even imagine
what adventure we were getting ourselves into.

12th to 14th May 2006, after years of silence,
GOCK Nis volunteers have visited their friends-volunteers
in former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. |
The
reason for this visit was the attending the 19.
Annual meeting of the “Hristijan Todorovski Karpos”
youth field unit of the “Karpos” Red Cross municipality

City
of Nis Hosts Student Competitors in International
Humanitarian Law (IHL) |

Nis, 16 April
2006: 18 students, together with their professors
and coaches, of the Law and Political Science
faculties, Police and Military Academies from
the cities of Nis, Novi Sad,
|
Belgrade and Podgorica (Serbia and Montenegro
- SCG), 6 teams altogether, have gathered at
the Law Faculty in Nis in southern Serbia for
the Fifth National Competition in IHL.

From January 9th
– 16th, 2006., Niš Red Cross, in cooperation
with the Assotiation of families of missing in Kosovo,
supported by International Committee
of the Red Cross (ICRC) and municipalities
of Nis, is organizing staying for about 30 children
from Nis, age 10 – 15, at “Gaj” resort of Red Cross
in Divljana near Bela Palanka.

Regional Disaster
Response Team set up by International Federation
of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, which include
50 representatives from 11 countries from South-East
Europe, together with guests from Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Georgia, Israel and Turkey, |
attended
the additional training for acting in natural
and human caused disasters. The training took
place in Divljana, Nis Red Cross resort near Bela
Palanka in mid November, 2005.

| Dr.Vladan
Djordjevic, the founder of the Serbian CB Red Cross,
being the head of the Sanitary of the Serbian High
Command and a member of the Administrative Committee
of the Serbian association of the CB Red Cross at
the time of the liberation of Nis, suggested the
formation of the subcommitee of the CB Red Cross
in Nis. |
The suggestion was accepted and administered
personally by Kosta Pavlovic who was the first chief
of the liberated area of Nis, therefore, known as
the founder of the CB Red Cross Nis.

The
City Branch of the Red Cross – Nis is actively taking
part in helping the vulnerable population of Kosovo
and Metohia.
The help is being
collected in preserved food, hygienic material,
blankets, mattresses and new underwear. |

The
undertaking of the humanitarian help is being done
at the moment, so the everyday dispatch will start
from the 24th of March.
The City Branch of the Red
Cross – Nis is, also, collecting financial means.

1902. the Home for abandoned children was established.
Due to poor health and care conditions the home
was closed after 6 years of existance, but it
was a predecessor of today`s Home for abandoned
children.

and other means of help were distributed through
the network of the CB Red Cross Nis.
