WHO ARE WE ?

The CB Red Cross Nis has tried to help people in misfortune and stop or diminish their pain for the last 126 years.

WHAT DO WE OFFER ?

One meal (lunch) containing 500g of cooked food and 300 g of bread.
This meal is prepared out of good quality ingredients and by recipes controlled by the Public Health Institute, with 1500cal which satisfies 50% of biological and energetic dayly needs.

WHY DO WE OFFER ?

Food and preservation of certain nutriment level is a basis for human existance difficult situations.
To provide people with food means secure their basic needs for living, health and dignity.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP ?

I

The Charter of Humanity, which is a constitutive part of the international law, which was verified by our country, guarantees protection and help to the vulnerable. This obligation is primarily meant for the state and its institutions.

The CB Red Cross sees its part in these primary aims and responsibilities which is in accordance with the basic rules of humanity in the Codex of behavior of the International CB Red Cross Movement. Our role in providing humanitarian help supports the fact that the state with the greatest responsibility can not always fullfil its obligation where its real potentials and capabilities of following the basic lawful and moral obligations are not in question.

The Municipality of Nis has taken over the responsibility of funding 1000 free meals for our fellow citizens.

Concerning the fact that at this moment 2000 more citizens need this kind of help we invite you to join the world family of donors who nourish human codex and the values of humanity.
Your donation will be more than just a cheritable act, it would also mean the development of good neighboring relationships, becausee you helped your neighbor, cousin, coleague… who is in a situtation to ask for help now, but one day will be able to return the favour.

HOW CAN YOU HELP US ?

Starting from the fact:

- that the need for free meals is 3000 a day, or 1.000.000 meals a year;
- that the preparation and the distribution of one meal costs 36 din. with no profit, or 36.000.000 din a year
- that the Municipality of Nis is funding 1000 meals a day with 12.000.000 din. a year
- that there is a need for additional 24.000.000 din a year.

Therefore we address you
- to help us support this program with your donations;
- donations need not be expressed only in money they can also be in food needed for the preparation of these meals.

WHAT IS OUR MUTUAL AIM ?

By unifying our resources we must be aware of the fact that we will not be able to solve all the problems and stop all kinds of human suffering. What we can do, actually, is contribute to making the lives of vulnerable people better.
We expect to be adressed with trust and point out that our mutual basic responsibility should be turned to those who need help.
